At the small but mighty age of five, I stood behind a podium the size of a redwood tree and delivered a prayer that resonated through my home church's congregation. Where most felt fear, I found my voice and courage. A couple of years later, I stood in front of my entire elementary school and gave one of my most successful speeches during my candidacy for school council (leveraging longer recess and extra chicken nuggets…which was not approved). Some years later, I rallied my local high school in a walkout against gun violence, addressing an exhausted student body and a sea of administrators. And shortly after, I ran for governor at Virginia Girl’s State (I lost lol.) But it was all of theses defining moments that would later kindle a wild fire within me.
Hi! I’m DaChar, the founder and CEO of Lane Public Relations. From my earliest memories, I've been captivated by the art of communication, the power of dialogue, and the potential to advocate for meaningful change. An unyielding passion guided me to Howard University, where I cultivated this fervor and emerged with a degree in Strategic, Legal, and Management Communication.
During my time at Howard University, I honed my skills across diverse landscapes. I navigated the intricacies of internal communications at Oxfam America, a global nonprofit, and led impactful public relations campaigns at Edelman Agency for popular food brands, specializing in brand and multicultural initiatives. I immersed myself in public affairs with the Washington Commanders, my home team, embracing the dynamic professional sports industry. Since graduating from Howard, I've ventured into health technology, and driven by a passion for ceaseless learning, am currently pursuing a MS in Integrated Communication at Virginia Commonwealth University.
My identity is woven from a tapestry of passions and niches that don’t quite align. I’m a football fanatic, outdoors connoisseur, and an extraverted introvert. I’m a homebody who loves to go on adventures, a type-A individual who prefers to go with the flow, and a girly-girl who loves to get her hands dirty. As you can see, embracing the unconventional is the essence of who I am. With that being said, all are welcome here!
And that leaves us with where we are today. Lane Public Relations was born to satisfy my unwavering devotion to all facets of public relations and communications and to allow me to bridge the gap between niches and borders.
